Tradicionalmente, Albacete no ha sido uno de los principales destinos turísticos de nuestro país. Sin embargo, últimamente se está postulando como una de las ciudades que está experimentando un mayor auge turístico. ¡Y con razón!
Hay motivos para ello y vamos a contártelos a continuación. Albacete está considerada la cuna del cuchillo en España. De hecho, comúnmente se la conoce como la Ciudad de la Cuchillería.
Como dicen los expertos de Tecnofilo, si quieres hacerte con unos cuchillos de calidad y con mucha historia, Albacete es el lugar ideal para ello.

Plaza del Altozano. Esta plaza, que data del siglo XVIII, es uno de los enclaves de mayor valor arquitectónico y el centro neurálgico de la ciudad. En ella se encuentran edificios históricos como el Antiguo Ayuntamiento, el Banco de España y el Gran Hotel; rodeados de un gran número de tiendas y cafeterías en las que sentarte a contemplar las vistas.
En sus jardines encontrarás dos de los monumentos más importantes de la ciudad: el Monumento al Cuchillero y la Bicha de Balazote.
Catedral de San Juan Bautista. Esta catedral, declarada Bien de Interés Cultural, empezó a construirse en el siglo XVI, pero sus obras no concluyeron hasta el año 1949. La consecuencia de esto ha sido que podamos apreciar en ella la mezcla de diferentes estilos artísticos, lo que hace de ella un monumento muy interesante.
Antiguo Ayuntamiento. Este edificio histórico bien merece una visita. Fue la sede del consistorio municipal entre los años 1903 y 1986. En la primera plana cuenta con el antiguo salón de plenos, donde en la actualidad se celebran charlas, conferencias y bodas. Un piso más arriba, en la segunda planta, podemos encontrar el Museo Municipal.
Parque de los Jardinillos. Si te apetece respirar aire puro por un espacio verde, no dejes de visitar este parque, el más antiguo de Albacete. Cuenta con un parque infantil que hará las delicias de los más pequeños y con un merendero ideal para hacer la pausa del bocata.
En este parque encontrarás un curioso templete del siglo XIX, que fue originalmente construido para albergar conciertos al aire libre.
Museo Municipal de la Cuchillería
Por supuesto, no te puedes marchar de la Ciudad de la Cuchillería sin visitar este museo. Lo encontrarás enfrente de la Catedral de San Juan Bautista, en la antigua Casa del Hortelano. En este edificio modernista podrás descubrir la historia del cuchillo y empaparte de la gran tradición cuchillera albaceteña. Y apunta esto: si vas un miércoles, lo visitarás gratis.
